  1. I just wanted to say I loved watching you three on The Baby Bomb, you were my favourite family! I admire that you were still breastfeeding and were babywearing too, it’s nice to see younger parents doing things for the benefit of the baby rather than themselves. I was also amazed to see the amber teething necklace too, I’m guessing you are also into natural parenting. Not sure if it is something you have thought about trying, but cloth nappies might be of interest you. Real nappy week starts 15/04/13 with loads of great offers on so a good way to try it out a little cheaper than normal.
Glad I stumbled across your blog, I was wondering how you were getting on πŸ™‚

    • Thank you πŸ™‚ I was actually planning to do a post about Real Nappy Week πŸ˜› I’m leaving it until next week because we’ve just been to visit family at the seaside (YAY!) and we’re off visiting family again this weekend. He’s in the flip nappies at the moment but I hope that spreading the word will encourage more people to do their bit too x

      • Glad you’ve had a nice time with family, nothing like a trip to the seaside!
I wish there were more pretty Flips, the organic inserts are great so they just get put in other shells when I want something pretty πŸ™‚ I love the Grovia Hybrids too, and the new Swaddlebees Capri. Similar concepts to the Flips πŸ™‚

  2. I also really enjoyed watching you on the Baby Bomb. You seem like wonderful Parent’s and have the most adorable little boy. You seem so down to earth πŸ™‚ and I love your hair! xx

      • Thanks for replying πŸ™‚ I know it might be a bit sad but it’s kind of made my day! I’ve been having a pretty stressful day, trying to get my dissertation done at the moment and reading your recent updates put a smile on my face. You seem to have a lovely little family unit, which I hope to have one day. And you have a really wonderful way of writing, your personality shines through! Would you like to become a writer one day or what is your dream career? I’m not sure how I stumbled across your page, but i’m glad I found it πŸ™‚ Charlie x

      • What are you studying? Not long until you can really enjoy the sunshine! Think of it that way πŸ˜› Pre-PeteandFinn I knew I wanted a family but now that I have it, I can’t believe how much better it is than how I pictured it. I studied English Literature at University, so something rubbed off perhaps? I’ve looked into teaching at a Steiner school, which is where we would like to start Finn off. More of a modern take on Steiner though (More on all this in a post soon actually) Over the years I’ve wanted to join the Army, be a librarian, be Indiana Jones, go into publishing and teach. We’ll see what happens when we move but ideally Pete and I will share work and looking after Finn equally and have some time spare for each other, of course! It always makes my day when anybody reading my blog takes the time to comment and share with me too. When you blog, you really put yourself “out there”, so it’s comforting to know that what you’re sharing is being enjoyed πŸ™‚ Madi x

      • I study Management and Marketing, but i’ve always wanted to be some kind of writer! I actually rather enjoying writing poems, mostly silly little ones for friends birthdays and things, but sometimes if I have a bit of spare time I come up with something meaningful (well it seems it to be anyway… someone else might think it’s a load of old nonsense! haha.) No not long now, i hand it in in three weeks… but i’m kind of wishing I had longer now! What University did you go to? Is that where you met Pete? Oh yes they have a Steiner School in Brighton where I come from, I know a few people that went there and they are all really open minded and creative lovely people. I totally wanted to be Indiana Jones too! Or a Charlie’s Angel! (Although I am Charlie so maybe I should find myself some Angels). I think I might start a blog after Uni, try and practice writing a bit… Yes I can’t wait until the day I get to start a family, i’ve been with my partner for 3 and a half years now so hopefully I won’t have to wait too long. How long have you been knitting? You have mad skills πŸ™‚ Charlie xx

      • Sorry for the late reply; We’ve been away house hunting! Yawn.

Writing can be so cathartic. Keep it up! Even if it’s for your eyes only. Most of my writing should stay that way!

Pete and I met at University of Gloucestershire.

You need three male angels as you’re a female Charlie. I think we’re onto something here!

Knitting, crocheting and sewing since I was very young. Something I go through phases with but always come back to. As my friend got it in the post yesterday I can say that the turquoise blue “thing” in the hyde park post was a baby blanket. I forgot to take a photo before I sent it though :/

        Madi x

      • Ooooh house hunting, sounds exciting πŸ™‚ I need to start a house hunt soon, after finishing Uni I’m not going to have anywhere to live unless I start searching soon, but too preoccupied with all this stinky work at the moment. Haha.

Yes! Three male angels would be brilliant, especially if they looked like Ben Aflick and Matt Damon in Dogma (although they were supposed to be actual Angels… Although Matt Damon in the Bourne Ultimatum would make a good private agent type character)… Sorry tangent! Haha.

I definitely would like to learn to sew properly, I mostly just prick my finger all the time and make a general mess of it! Good luck with the house hunt πŸ™‚ thank you for replying again! Have you got any fun plans for the Summer?

        Charlie x

      • It’s not exciting when you’re having no luck 😦 That may be changing now though! We’ll see. Staying around the area you went to Uni/going home/moving in with the bf?

For me it would have to be identical Hugh Jackman twins. Nom nom nom.

I used to be very good, but have fallen out of practice. Just give yourself time, patience and practice πŸ™‚ Have just crocheted Finn a pixie hat πŸ˜‰ Photos sooooon. Visiting family, celebrating Finn’s 1st birthday, moving house and decorating. Busy Summer! Celebrating end of uni and house warming for you? x x x

      • Oh no, i hope you have more luck! Finding a place can always be such a struggle, but it’ll be worth it in the end. Yeah i’m moving back to Brighton with my boyfriend (we both come from around there originally too, so that’s lucky), but we are struggling to find somewhere nice / in budget, but am going to have a better look when i’m actually back in the area as it’s rather tricky over the internet and everything we like keeps getting snapped up.

I hand in my project on Wednesday… so as you can imagine everything’s a bit crazy at my end! But working through it, but for some reason my get up and go seems to have got up and left recently. Must remain calm and focused… lots of fruit tea and biscuits needed!

Hugh Jackman twins… now that is something to think about!

Hope you enjoy your HP Studio tour! What a diamond for getting you those. You’ll have to let me know how it goes πŸ™‚ I’d like to take a visit one day. Any big plans for your birthday?

Yes i’ll most definitely be celebrating finishing my degree… not sure how yet as still so wound up in getting it all done, but i’m sure i’ll think of something πŸ™‚ My housemates are all in the year below me and they made me a commemorative hoody as a graduation / leaving! I am so chuffed, it’s got all there names on and some images that mean a lot to me πŸ™‚ And it’s purple… so winning all round! Going to be so sad to leave them though. I hope you’ve had more luck on the house hunt.

        Charlie x

Visiting family, celebrating Finn’s 1st birthday, moving house and decorating. Busy Summer! Celebrating end of uni and house warming for you? x x x

      • Loving the new hair do! It really suits you, plus all for an amazing cause. Top work! Charlie x

    • ps, i accidentally managed to post the end of your last comment onto the end of mine… not sure what happened there. haha xx

      • Impressive, haha. How did hand-in go? I think about Hugh Jackman twins far more than is healthy. We’ve just been playing in the park today and I plan to eat an entire Lemon Meringue Pie as my “birthday cake” πŸ˜€ That hoody sounds AMAZING. What cuties for getting you that! Your bf will have to wash it when you sleep so you can wear it ALL the time! x x x

      • haha, i wish! oooh lemon meringue is the best! i learnt how to make that in food tech about… oooh 10 years ago… time goes too quick! might have to dig out the recipe and see if i can still do it… i remember making the meringue proving tricky, but i’m up for a challenge.

Hand in went well thank you πŸ™‚ I managed to hand in a whole day before the deadline, which was very out of character! haha. but thought i’d go all out for the big one! now to wait until mid july to get my results… the suspense is killing me! have taken up playing Rayman and Crash Bandicoot on PS1… very productive! haha. But what can I say, I love a bit of vintage PS1! Will get onto the important adult type stuff like finding a job and somewhere to live next week πŸ˜‰

I see you’ve found a house! Congrats! That must be such a big weight off your mind. I hope your move goes well and you settle in nicely. I also love your choice of bikes, I recently got myself a Carrerra and although it doesn’t look as awesome or vintage as your selection it gets me from A to B and I love a good bike ride. Fitness and fun rolled into one. I hear Bristol is lovely too, i’ve never actually been but have heard only good things so am sure you will have a wonderful life as a family there. Good luck with the Teacher training too, I can see you as an English teacher (although am sure you’d be great at whichever subject you choose). Hope you’re enjoying the Sunshine xx

      • Lemon zest in the pastry, homemade lemon curd and all to be eaten in one sitting. That’s the key πŸ˜› They should repay the favour and give you the results early! I’m rubbish at “video games”. I have a purple Gameboy Advance (don’t think the colour improves it’s street cred) and only ever played Harry Potter games on it. Thanks! It is a massive relief. Lots still to sort but Pete’s taking care of that side of it *phew* When you’re on a bike you don’t see it anyway, just what’s around you. Fingers crossed. Good luck with the job hunt and house hunt!!! x x x

      • Loving the new hair do! It really suits you, plus all for an amazing cause. Top work! Charlie x

  3. I first saw you on the baby bomb and loved you, Pete and Finn. I was gutted when you left. Glad to know I can check out your blog and watch Finn grow πŸ™‚
I have a massive question to ask that i never thought i’d be able to, where did you get that adorable bear onesie Finn wore on the show? I am looking to buy one for my baby
    Hope you’re all well x

    • Thank you πŸ™‚ It was a difficut decision to leave but the whole process of filming was too much like hard work πŸ˜‰ All his bear suits have been presents from friends and family. They all know he’s an animal, haha. The brown zip-up bear suit was from H&M (They only went up to size 6 months) He has had others in different sizes and colours from Gap and other places I can’t remember the name of :/ Baby brain still? x

  4. I loved watching you and your family on the telly! πŸ™‚ Quick question, which baby wrap would you recommend? I have a bump on the way and i’m planning on babywearing but there is SO MUCH CHOICE! Thank you in advance xx

    • Thanks :$ Good choice πŸ˜‰ When are you due :D? Some great youtube videos of different ways to tie the wraps. To begin with a stretchy wrap can mould round a newborn. We used the Moby wrap. Now we use a Lenny Lamb woven wrap so I can carry Finn on my back (not stretchy, so offers more rigid support to a baby who has head control) These have been my two favourites out of half a dozen I’ve tried. So not very knowledgeable on all the specifics between different makes. May be worth hiring/borrowing a few different ones to begin with to see which you feel comfy with? I hope this helps! Let me know how you get on?! x

      • Not until October 4th! I like to be prepared though πŸ™‚ (Plus, i’m meant to be finishing my dissertation right now, so what better way to procrastinate?) I’ve heard good things about moby wraps! Thank you for the help πŸ™‚ xx

  5. Yes, Graduation date is two weeks after my due date, I think that’s going to be a fun day! I love that quote πŸ™‚ although I wish I was more prepared about uni work.. We don’t! Decided to have a surprise, although i’m very worried that my willpower will fail on me at the 20 week scan .. Did you find out with Finn? xx

    • Eeek! How exciting though πŸ˜€ I remember leaving uni essays until the last minute. I claim to work better under pressure 😎 We did find out so we could buy more gender specific things but next time (not yet!) we would like a surprise. Don’t cave in! x

      • I claim the same thing! Then try and convince myself it’s true .. I’m obviously not under enough pressure yet a day before deadline πŸ˜‰ .. It’s so difficult! I just want to know if i’m guessing right! haha πŸ™‚ I was adamant it was a girl at the beginning but now I have a strong feeling i’m carrying a boy .. x

      • I’ll stop distracting you! We’re off out in a mo. Finn’s had some advocado for lunch so he’s raring to go! I thought I was having a girl and then knew it was a boy. Have you seen the film ‘Away we go’? An excuse to take a break, put your feet up and gorge on (n)ice cream. Such a cute movie x

    • If you watch it, let me know what you think! I watched it when I was pregnant. Great music in it too! Hope the uni work is going well and that you find time to have a break to enjoy the sun. Farm trip for us today πŸ™‚ Madi x

  6. Hi Madi, you was the most down to earth and lovely mother when i saw you on baby bomb. Cannot belive how much Finn has grown!! Hes so sweet! Do you still keep in contact with any of the girls? Or do they have any websites or instagram or anything like that. Would love to see how much all the babies have grown and changed. Your a great mum!! Hope your all well x

    • Hi, Ellie. Thank you! He’s massive now πŸ˜€ Don’t see them anymore due to the distance and I don’t know if they have any of those. If they do, I’ll put links on here πŸ™‚ x
